I might as well be the first. :D :rotfl2:
Has anyone who has Windows 10 running on their computer now tried to see if SH4 will run on it? :hmm2:
I'm still waiting to get my notification so I can make the upgrade. :yep:

I'm still on Win Seven. I think I'll wait a month or so while Microsoft parses the feedback from its millions of installs

Yes, it runs just fine. I did not reinstall SH4, either; I ran the same install I made under Windows 8.1.

Same here. Runs fine. I was on Win 7 and updated to Win 10 two days ago. Didn't need to do anything but create a short cut to the start menu.

Since this is the SH4 forum, and the question was about whether SH4 will run on it, I would refer you to this thread for Windows 10 questions:

Not going there any time soon. Pioneers get all the arrows. Glad to know SH4 runs well on it though.

Staying on Window's 8 here and don't plan on upgrading any time soon. Plenty of my games I own shouldn't be running on this PC due to how dang old they are yet they run just fine on it. I'm not risking that for anything.
Ed has it running on Win 10 64 bit cdrsubron7. Next I asked him if SHCE ran and it doesn't look promising.... yet.
DOSBox will adapt to Win 10. Maybe have SHCE on a thumb drive??
I'm staying with Win 7 : )

Tis most likely a crowded boat as well. Still can't figure out how I was able to get Railroad Tycoon 2 to work on it considering the hell I went through to get it working on my Vista.

I have the same view.
Why take the risk? What could I do with Windows 10, that I couldn't do with Windows 7?

Regardless of what happens, there is a cross-platform program called VirtualBox, which creates a virtual computer running on your physical computer. This virtual computer can run any operating system you want: Windows XP, Windows 3.11, Windows 7, Linux, whatever! And running Windows XP in a virtual machine is safe because you can shut off its Internet access to use it to run SH4.
So it doesn't really matter if Windows 10 runs SH4 or not. You do have to own installation disks for the operating system you want to use and you need a license to install it. I think it's important to do this legally.
VirtualBox is a free open source program and it works better than commercial virtual machine programs I've used.
I also hear that SH4 runs in Wine under OSX. There are difficulties running in in Wine under Linux and I haven't been successful yet.
