I love all that stuff (currently wrestling again with "Crysis 2") but I wonder whether it also applies to combat flight sims: so much more physical connection with the game using a joystick (and I imply nothing) than just pointing and shooting with a mouse..?

I'm still playing "Warhead" and there's also, I believe, an online-only game called "Crysis Wars". I never got to finish the first one owing to continuous crashes; on the other hand, Crysis 2 runs just fine, as has been reported by others. Graphics in these are amazing, but I understand you have to download other software for getting screenshots, or I'd have put one of my own here.

The latest Thief game is eye candy gone mad and a nice change trying not to kill everything that moves, its quite challenging being a sneaky bugger.

I've got 1, 2 and 3 but haven't had time to get into them yet. There's a thread about this game in the General Games Discussion forum, as I recall, which you might find worth a look.

I think this is just a bit of daftness: the news.com.au link points up that it's the more frenzied and violent fps games which can be linked to those with a higher than average sex-drive, but there are role-playing and puzzle-solving fps type games requiring more brain power than rat-run shooters like "Call of Duty", plus games like "Thief" and "Prisoner of War" where you have to survive on your wits alone, and never get to shoot at anything. Maybe they think these games are for tossers.
