Running WoS mod.
When I leave for patrol, I load up with all electric torpedoes inside. But when I get to sea, the stern tube is loaded with a steamer. Why?

Can you confirm that the issue is only VIIB related? Does this happen without megamod on board too?:hmmm:

I've only ever played with the WoS megamod, so I can't comment on what it does without it. Also I don't know how to change u-boats; I assumed that was not possible.

Now I've gone a couple of months now (October-Dec 1940) without being able to select a mission. Maybe if you start a patrol without selecting a mission this is what you get?

I've only ever played with the WoS megamod, so I can't comment on what it does without it. Also I don't know how to change u-boats; I assumed that was not possible.
How about to disable the megamod and start Happy Times campaign using "silentotto" cheat?

Now that I have achieved the Type VIIC u-boat, the problem seems to have gone away. At least for my first patrol with it.
I have noticed that for the last several months of game time now I have not been given any mission choices when I ask for a mission.

Yes , It appears that issue is only VIIB and C/41 related, possible stock game issue...Not such a gamebraking bug though...

I don't know if it's related, but several patrols ago all of my dialog with my crew members reset back to the beginning of time. So I could ask them all the questions from game start all over again.

I see...I've expected something like this so I emphasize it in FAQ and readme documentation of "No stupid tonnage_Free style campaign" addon...But, no one like to read all those scribbles...:D
You've skipped you campaign end date due to patrol ending and that is the reason why game failed to transfer you to "Happy Times".
You can try this instead...
Start patrol and make manual gamesave on some place without many units in your area.
Exit the game, and open Campaign.cfg file from that particular gamesave and find and change following line/date...

I see this now:
- How can I pass from one campaign to the next one?
Make sure to be ON PATROL when deadline date of last objective is reached, preferably somewhere at the open seas without AI units in your vicinity . This is important so be careful if you use mods like "Change Days in Bunker"... The end date of first "Coastal Waters" campaign is 1st June 1940.
I never paid attention to it before because I did not pay attention to when campaigns ended. I think it is visible on the nav map?
Since there is no tonnage bar, do you even have to worry about moving from campaign to campaign? Can't you just go to the guy in bunker and "start new patrol" without ever picking a mission? Will you miss out on anything (besides not having a patrol grid to go to)?
In other words, why pick campaigns at all? It looks like the game progresses along with new subs, equipment, and torpedoes regardless.

SH5/OHII campaign organisation slightly differs from previous SH titles. It is consistent of several separated campaigns merged as one in order to...Well, I don't know but it's just like that.
Now, the bottom line is this...The only thing that you have to worry regarding your campaign is that quoted FAQ line and sinking of juicy targets anywhere you like...Nothing more and nothing less...:yep:
Patrol grids and secondary missions will give you few crew promotional points but they are mostly just cool guidelines, nothing more...

The only thing that you have to worry regarding your campaign is that quoted FAQ line and sinking of juicy targets anywhere you like...Nothing more and nothing less...:yep:
My question is, what happens if I ignore the FAQ line and never advance to another campaign, other than not being assigned patrol grids?

When you say:
EndDate=19400601 "change the date of last objective to your current ingame date+1day,"
What is "the date of my last objective?"
Am I supposed to change the value "19400601" to my current ingame date + 1 day?

Well, I changed this line:
EndDate=19400601
To read:
EndDate=19410416
as my patrol date was April 15, 1941.
When I loaded the game, I saw a new campaign option appear under "Coastal Waters". It was "Western Approaches". But after midnight, it went away. When I went back to base and asked for a new mission, none were available.

There was no issue with torpedoes in the bunker. The issue was even with an electric in the rear tube in the bunker, when you started your patrol it was replaced with a steamer. Problem has gone away with my Type VIIC boat.
