Sad news.

Sad news to hear, although 93 years is a very good run, indeed. One thing a lot of Avengers fans may not know is how Macnee fought very hard to restore the legacy of the series. While in his late seventies, he managed to sort out all manner of ownership claims and also defeated a lot of the pirates who were selling rather poor bootleg versions of the show. He eventually wound up with a percentage ownership of the series and insured newly re-mastered DVDs of the series were made available to the public. We, as fans, thank him...

Now, let us all place our bowler hats over our hearts, hold high our brollys in tribute and bid Mr. Steed a good rest...
