This is a story about a former popular streaming service in Denmark. I my self saw article and link to this online movie stream.

Many downloaded the software, needed to watch movies on this homepage.

People was, well a little to fast. The owner of this page didn't have the right to stream movies to its customers.

The page is closed, the owner can look forward to a trial. That's not all-they have managed to log every viewer-about 200.000. A fine is on its way to these danish people.

I don't know how much they will have to pay in fine.

I my self are a member on a fully legal movie side- I pay per movie I watch and I can see it as many time I want during 48 hours.

As I wrote in my title - HA, it is their own fault.

Did the site say that they didn't have the right to stream these movies? If they pretended to be legitimate, fining the customers for it might be a bit unfair :hmmm:

If you should enter a homepage, where it says

Watch movie for free-no obligations and then something about al right reserved-wouldn't some kind of bell ring in your head-warning you that this can't be right ?

The movie side I talked about in the end of my thread have 1 or 2 free movies each month or so, same. The rest you have to pay for to watch.

This is the homepage

https://www.plejmo.com/en/

(don't know if you can see it outside Scandinavia)

Edit found a Danish article from end of March (have used google translate)

"The popularity and the use of piracy service Popcorn Time has exploded recently. Alone in Sweden and the Netherlands the streaming service are more popular than even Netflix

Although the exploiters claims that the service is legal and they just do as Google. Distribute content to users that already exist elsewhere on the web

This accepts the the rights owners far from. But it can be hard to get at the exploiters of the Popcorn Time which have made it their mission to be impossible to shut down"
( my mistake- I was asure that they had got the exploiters)

The viewer will be fined with about 2000 Danish krone = about 300 $
