I have noticed that games like Silent Hunter 2, 3, 4, and 5 come with up to 40 or 50 mods and patches for each game. I also believe that when you install one mod or patch it can sometimes overwrite a file from another mod or patch that you installed previously. Isn't there a way we can organize a list of the order in which each and every mod and patch should be installed for each game to avoid potentially overwriting anything? Or at least each and every mod or patch should come with a warning as to which other files from other mods and patches that they will overwrite?

If you use JSGME it does tell you if there is a conflict between mods, as well as what will be overwritten.

since there are so many mods and patches, it would be a time prohibitive under taking to do what you asked. The supermods do this because the sheer size, it's practical and necessary. We found the best way is to just experiment.
