Hi, Jason, and Welcome Aboard! :sunny:

I'm sorry to answer your question with another question, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by "setup files". SH3 should install right off the disc, or from the download, no extra files needed. Which version of SH3 are you trying to install.

Hi yes I downloaded the game from newgamesbox.net. It appears to be version 1.0. The files are all in a Winrar folder and there is a setup file inside in the form of a black and red icon. I even did the "test the files" option in Winrar and they all came back with no problems, so its really strange. There is also a huge data1.bin file and I dont know if that file needs to be mounted but I cant mount that file. (I use WinCDemu for mounting). Anyway, when you click the setup file, it asks you for a password and accepts it. It then asks you where you want to install the game. C:/Program Files is the default location. But it wont install there or anywhere. It just gives some funny isdone.dll error message in Russian! Thinking that I needed to download an isdone.dll file I thought that might help but it didnt. Whats also funny is that although the game is around 1 GB, it tells you that you need 14 MB of free space to install the game at the location you select. My problem seems to be unique because I cant find anyone else online with the exact same problem.

Did you de-compress the Winrar folder to a destination of your choice first and try to install from there using the setup.exe?

And welcome to the club!

Yes I tried different locations.

Is newgamesbox.net a non-pirate website?

Google search returns "download games for free" associated with it (and I'm not dumb enough to click on the link in case the site is full of malware).

I couldn't figure out how to down load without pop ups and crap.
I suspect it's the old Demo version.

I've never even heard of that site before. If you got it for free then it probably won't work anyway. UBISoft was very careful about that. I always buy the disc.
