Aktungbby

You got in reverse! It's 'ON'! Priestly discovered Oxygen 'O' on the periodic table; his rival, a Scots man, discovered nitrogen: noxious or dephlogisticated gas: 'N'. Hints: NOW Come up with name of the first ship (previously posted) A reasonable description of the event with the second ship (also previously posted) and the predicament of the poor cow: ("brought 2.... ?") and u have it!

"Yacht (??) great Iowa on hunt" ? :hmmm:
I don't get it.

Aktungbby
12-15-15, 05:21 PM
great Iowa on hunt Close enough! WINNER! The name of the Russian oligarch's yacht is named the 'A' that I saw and posted in favorite ships in SF Bay and Neal's new destroyer thread. The Cheese 'grate' is simple enough. I was having a great day in SF at the WWII sub and Liberty Ship, when word of the USS Iowa's last transit under the GG Bridge transit became known and I raced across town to see it in person; BB and G.G. in one shot! posted in Oberon's Cool pics and several postings elsewhere; the poor cow has been brought to 'bay" by wolves... Hence: "A great day on (the) BAY" :woot:

The second image.
Mei Misaki is the female protagonist of Another. Another is a Japanese fictional mystery horror novel by Yukito Ayatsuji. http://another.wikia.com/wiki/Mei_Misaki
The third image.
Pillow Talk the film, what I was looking for was the last name of the actress Doris Day, now do you get it.... :hmph:

So let me propose a Dung Beetle Award, to be presented to the Image Puzzle which is so difficult to push uphill, it eventually bears down upon us and drops with a plop onto page two, before somebody takes pity and, with supreme effort, pokes it back up onto page one again, as I did this one yesterday.

Catfish
12-17-15, 02:50 PM
Not a saying, a.. tale. If you get the last two pictures, you should already have it.

Eichhörnchen
12-17-15, 03:54 PM
Is it a German folk tale?

Catfish
12-17-15, 04:22 PM
No, Mediterranean. And, the third picture's name and pronunciation differs a bit.

Eichhörnchen
12-17-15, 07:45 PM
So a Classical myth?

Catfish
12-18-15, 02:15 PM
Hi, sorry have been trying to complete some minor .. err .. repairs in the house.

Yes, classical, yes, a myth AND mditerranean. Come on, there aren't so much :yep:
Aktungbby already mentioned it some posts ago .. solution is only one word, comprising the three pictures, and the last does not match the letters, but the sound.

Eichhörnchen
12-19-15, 04:28 AM
Is it the Odyssey? (Ode+IS+sea)? Aktung mentioned sirens the other day...

Aktungbby

Catfish

YES :D
Was the Sirens(?) post, the troglodyte or Polyphem (does he have three eyes, on the picture??), and Ulyses' home island of Ithaca mentioned, with his wife Penelope (and her suitors, waiting to be slaughtered). Why, b.t.w., isn't it called Ulyssey in english – i mean if you call him Ulysses, rather than Odysseus? :hmmm:

First picture is sure odd
second is IS (sorry, should be daesh :03:)
and third is sea.
Well i admit the letters do not match exactly

is the first image a sports logo?

Catfish
01-28-16, 02:28 AM
Moin, yes the first picture is the logo of a sportsclub.
Horsehead nebula is right, but that's not the word(s) you want to know :03:

Hint: All together gives a song's name from a british band. Although not everyone will know this song, "unfortunately " (hehe)

"All together gives a song's name from a british band"
So yes, music related. :D

The song title consists of two words.
Pictures 1 and 2 have to be combined to give the first word, and pictures 3 and 4 to get the second.

Defnitely NOT what you would call a Heavy metal group. One of the most famous bands in the world, though thy did not play this piece often, in the later days.

Come on, every british subject should by now know .. Aktung already found out the second word, and also one of the first, by chance. ... performance :O:

Hmm, Weetabix? :hmmm:

Afraid not and a lot more attractive to youngsters as well.

Is it consumed hot or cold?

Could be either but in the vast majority of cases, cold but not usually iced.

Look at the pictures again, the first one is probably the most difficult but the middle two I'd have thought much easier and the last one is a dead giveaway.

I know you'll be kicking yersel when the answer is announced.

The adverts were pretty cool musical dittys.

does it come in its own wrapper?

Jimbuna

I'm not sure what you mean but it does come individually wrapped and not as part of a box or something similar contents.

The slogan/logo/ditty is actually six words long but the 'and' as well as the 'a' are not depicted in the pictures.

Nope....look at it again, it is poking you in the eye.

I honestly thought this one is possibly the easiest yet. The hardest part must surely be the first picture.
