can't play game/incomplete controls?

Hi all. First off I played SH5 when it first came out and enjoyed it very much.:D I haven't played any for a couple of years. I got a new computer a month ago and decided to get my sea legs back. After downloading, I find I can't launch the game because of U-play? :down:Got that fixed, but I wanted to start over, with the tutorial to get rid of the rust. The option is not there. I guess once started and advancing, you can't restart?:hmmm: Anyhow, the problem is that when I load a saved game, or start a new campaign, my controls on the screen are incomplete. The icons for the officers at the top are missing. The icons for the different compartments for the boat, that should show up on the bottom of the screen are missing? The only view I have in game is the external view, if I click it off (to go to sub) the game locks up and the keyboard wasd won't work??:wah: Do I need to ReInstall? Or is my new computer to much for this older game? I'm running Win7 Pro, 64 bit. If anyone could help, I would be appreciative. :/\\!!Thanks.

heya first try to a fresh game reinstall if u have a non steam steam version of the game and is patched to 1.2 use also tdw's patcher which one fix a lot of bugs without this patcher the game is almost impossible to play

read all the documentation and follow the install steps from that thread before install the mega mod.

can u post a print screen to see what exactly is the problem there ?

I've been a member on here since 2003, but have not touched the game for quite a few years. I forgot all of the ins and outs of the mods, etc. I have it working now, and am working on putting in what mods I think I need. Thanks for your willingness to help. Very much appreciate it.:):salute:
