Do you guys have a good suggestion for a tool to record what on your screen?
Need for games etc.

It does not have to be fancy, but it does have to be effective/easy to use.
I have a separate tool to edit...

I haven't tried any of those but maybe you'll find something here:

I used to use IrfanView. I do not have it on my computer at this time, but I used it sometime ago. It was a freebee then and it worked pretty good.

Active presenter is pretty good. It allows you to edit your capture within the software.

DXtory has been good for me, though it isn't free.

From my point of view I dont mind paying a little $ for the right tool.
I already have a videoediting software, so Im only looking for a good, but simple grabber :)

FRAPS is definitely worth the small price.

FRAPS is definitely worth the small price.

And includes Life Time upgrades.
I forgot my password after a few years and they checked records and hooked me back up.

FRAPS does divide your video into multiple 4096k files. You can combine them seamlessly with VirtualDub so that's not an issue. Its files are also huge so you might use Any Video Converter to convert to a smaller format.
