Chancellor Merkel is now under direct attack from press and politics, some directly accuse her for treason. Seems the BND have warned the chancellery for years, of industrial espionage and violating german and international law. Not that the BND has not knowingly agreed to do just that, in a deal with the Five eyes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Eyes).
The german BND seem to have delivered one-sided information on economical and technical details, from all kinds of companies from Airbus to silicon chip production, partially in exchange for information, for a good part voluntarily, partially with "financial compensation".

It is the duty of the chancellery, to prevent harm from the german people, and survey the action of - at least - the german secret services. And it seems there is no control at all, in this "democracy".

The chancellery tries to get away with a statement of "no comment", and that they would provide the papers, "but unfortunately they are secret" :O:

"The spying scandal shows that the intelligence agencies have a life of their own and are uncontrollable"
Is this really a new insight? No one has learned from
Gladio and state terrorism (https://books.google.co.uk/books?hl=de&lr=&id=n0uRAgAAQBAJ&oi=fnd&pg=PP1&dq=Gladio+state+terrorism&ots=0gHwx5HcY3&sig=ZvnO0WFbNWAX0or7UGh9vDmTHCI#v=onepage&q=Gladio%20state%20terrorism&f=false)

Of course it will all go out like the Hornberger Schiessen, too much at stake. Imagine the dumb people get to know what governments and secret services are up to. Fighting terrorism, huh? :03:

One thing is new though. Now with industrial espionage of this magnitude, there's also a lot of money in it.. maybe this will trigger a reaction

Unless the industry brings her down nothing will change. She's been Teflon since day 1 and some of her subjugates might be sacrificed for it (de Maizičre has become more trouble than he's worth for example) but she'll get away without a scratch and will be reelected next time I'm sure. We're just too dumb with very short memories and have to few real alternatives.http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/mad/mad0235.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-scared-smileys.php)

^ well, when i look at how childish and unprofessional secret services and politicians act, and with what kind of prerequisites they reach their profession (right-wing, lots of century-old prejudice and preferably without proper higher education) i think there are indeed a lot of better people around. This is not 'altenativlos' at all (this word b.t.w. deserves to be the worst word-creation of the year. Created by Merkel, of course).
Problem is you do not get into those inner circles, without proper insider relationship, and/or money.
Sometimes i think they do not even suspect how most despise them.
But then we can't complain, who with a half pound of brain would voluntarily do this job? :03:

Back to the five eyes and spying. This time they got the german industry where it hurts: Money. This might change a few things – not that i really expect it. You know patriotism, terrorism, alternativlos, blahblahblah.

The short term alternatives for her would come from either SPD, Grüne or Linke. Non of them is a true alternative unless you want Gabriel, Hofreiter or Gysi as chancellor. On second thought though....can't be that much worse than "Mutti" who hasn't been doing much in almost a decade in power and still lives of Gerhard Schröder's Agenda 2010.

^ This is the worst thing. When i hear the SPD speak today, it sounds just like the CDU or FDP some years ago. This 2010 agenda from the SPD is all Merkel lives from, and it would have been a fine CDU idea. Not that Kohl or Merkel have had any new or inspirational ideas, at all.
Merkel has just swallowed all ideas of other parties and made them their own.
Let's see how she handles the accusation of treason..
