Joy Lofthouse, 92, flew the iconic planes during the Second World War.

This time, she took off from Boultbee Flight Academy in Chichester, Sussex, as a passenger.

After landing, Mrs Lofthouse said: “It was lovely. It was perfect.”

She appeared very relaxed and right back in 1945 when she piloted these birds. What a wonderful woman.

Well, let's see, GHW Bush skydives up to his 90th birthday and this fine young lady takes off in a Spitfire at age 92...

Take THAT, you young whippersnappers!!...

A big salute to Ms. Lofthouse and a thank you for her service... :salute:
