View Full Version : Woman Spitfire pilot aged 92 takes to the skies to mark VE Day

Joy Lofthouse, 92, flew the iconic planes during the Second World War.
This time, she took off from Boultbee Flight Academy in Chichester, Sussex, as a passenger.
After landing, Mrs Lofthouse said: “It was lovely. It was perfect.”

She appeared very relaxed and right back in 1945 when she piloted these birds. What a wonderful woman.
Well, let's see, GHW Bush skydives up to his 90th birthday and this fine young lady takes off in a Spitfire at age 92...
Take THAT, you young whippersnappers!!...
