Last month I deactivated the Flotilla due to losing my staff to real life situations. It was very important for us to be available to Our U-Boot Commanders. With only myself I was unable to do this which was not fair. I was on subsim at least 6-7 hours per day. This meant that I could respond to Commanders in the U.S. time zone but the European Commander's had a time lap waiting for a response.

Awhile ago I was on my daily visit to the subsim forum and noticed that another forum member was starting a flotilla. Being curious I followed his thread links and found myself in another forum and found that his flotilla and forum was by invitation only. I felt that any thing to do with the subsim forum should be open to the total subsim community.

So I decided to reactivate Donitz Elite Flotilla and keep it open without invitation.

During the next month I will reevaluate our Donitz Elite sub-forum and web site to make it more reactive and interesting.

I need help to do this. As stated above it is very important that we respond A.S.A.P to our U-Boot Commanders. I am retired so my computer time is unlimited but I still need two or three Senior Staff Officers to help in design and management of the flotilla.

I need at least one from Europe and one from the U.S. and one from any other country. Together we can make something great.

Requirements are a love for subsim and GWX, preferably retired and the ability to monitor and respond to our U-Boot Commanders. If you have the computer time and would like to be apart of this reorganization of this flotilla please PM me

Great news :yeah:

My family/work situation is too sketchy to be a part of the Flotilla yet, but I'm hopeful I could join it at some time.

The 2-part organisation of the Flotilla (players and staff members) make a lot of workload. Just a thought, but how about adding very minor responsibilities to the players as well. Like in a real-life organisation. You start as a green recruit with no need for much thinking, or much responsibility, and then if you progress, step by step you start to carry some minor responsibilities on your own.

If I had the chance to join the Flotilla now, I wouldn't mind if there was a 1-2 month Seaman Recruit time with just the orders to keep playing the game, and then if I want to and have behaved according to the Flotilla's rules, I could accept a promotion to Seaman Apprentice status with some very minor and easy responsibilities in helping out with the Flotilla's workload.

The goal would be to establish a delegation of workload: Operational work for the lowest level members - Tactical work for the middle level - Strategic work for the Flotilla highest level members.

That is one heck of an idea and I will incorporate it. Wish you had more computer time. Keep monitoring Donitz and I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas you may have.

Thanks again,

Ken

As a Lone Wolf Flotilla skipper I wouldn't describe it as "invitation only". It's fairly open, in my opinion, although the registration process may be a bit more complicated than necessary.

It's good to see that you are thinking about getting the Doenitz Flotilla back online, and good luck with that. I shall keep an eye on it, and who knows, maybe I'll have the time for both of the Flotillas. Or maybe one of them will simply be much better for my needs. Only time will tell...

Ken.

I want to clarify something regarding the above quoted area of your original 1st post of this thread.

Although the Lone Wolf Flotilla has been invited to become part of the SUBSIM forum, it has no affiliation with the SUBSIM forum at this time other than most members are also SUBSIM forum members. Any SUBSIM forum Member is welcome to join our group. The registration process we use is in place to keep spam/spammers out. You are also welcome and I can use the help.

A poll is now up on our forum (LWF) to vote on bringing the Lone Wolf Flotilla to SUBSIM and we do have a majority vote to join SUBSIM, but there is a few members who have not voted yet. The poll stays open until May 15, 2015.

I wish you the best in finding help with your group.

Clay.

Two Flotillas sounds a bit too competitive on a 10 year old game, IMO. I hope you guys can have a talk about the possibility of uniting the Flotillas, if you have very similar goals, or arranging some kind of co-operation between the Flotillas, if you are aiming for different playing experiences.

Don't forget Wolves At War, which started life twelve years ago as the Iblitz Campaign for SH2.

Are you really serious?

There are way more than only two flotillas:

I'm fairly sure that wasn't the point of sublynx's post...

Yup. I was thinking about if two Flotillas in the same Forum would be too much or not.

And that is very good question.
