Trying to turn on map contacts?

I was in the bunker and went to game settings and turned on map contacts, but I don't see ships on my map.

I'm running Wolves of Steel modpack. Does it override the game settings?

SteveYou can only change the realism settings when starting a new career .

Really? I thought it was between patrols in bunker as well...

I think with TWoS no map contacts is further enforced by TDWs UI's removing the textures for the map contacts all together! There are instructions, BURIED UNDER MASS PILES OF SUNKEN SHIPS, that relate how to get them back so happy searching!
