Hi guys. Just to start, I'm running 1.4 and TMO 2.5. As I'm writing this it's august 1943 and I'm based in Fremantle AUS. I started off in Midway but somehow I was automatically transfered. The thing is, I cannot transfer back to Midway or transfer at all. They're just giving me patrols around the Philippines and the Celebes sea and it's getting somewhat boring (ducks for cover).

PS: during my unvoluntary transfer I was awarded a 'new' sub but what I got was a Tambor, while in Midway I was at the helm of a Gato...

Any thoughts?

Install the TMO 2.5 little patch. There's a known bug in TMO 2.5 called The Tambor bug. Little patch fixes it. At least I think. I use TMO 2.2.

As for the transfer, I think that's controlled by \Data\Cfg\Basic.cfg :

[TIME]
TransferFlotilla=1
NbDaysInBase=28
NbPatrolsInFlotilla=3
NbMonthsInFlotilla=6

New sub = restart that clock whatever flotilla you get transferred to, so you have to do 3 patrols and six months in that flotilla before you can get another transfer.

This is speculation, not a proven fact, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. You could experiment by editing that datablock in the basic.cfg file, or wait out the 6 months and 3 patrols and try again.

THNX!

One more thing, my deckgun moved from stern to bow without crew. Is that part of the Tambor bug as well?

Have to say the Tambor is performing well. Had to escape 3 escorts and got it down to 168 meters without mishaps :yeah:

TMO defaults the deck gun to bow. I think you can still change it if you want.

I installed the patch, did it wrong, reinstalled everything included patch and now I can't load my last saved game. I can load it while in port but if I want to start a new patrol or when I want to transfer I get a ctd.

Help :wah:

Most mods and patches you have to delete all save games and start a new career since there will often be conflicts between data in the save games and new modified data. If you're gonna use mods you'll have to get used to that.

There is an optional file in TMO 2-5 for Aft Deck Guns only.

A similar transfer question. I began my first career in the Philippines and was transferred to Surabaya and then to Fremantle as two bases were lost to the Japanese. Was there a random possibility of transfer to Darwin or Brisbane or is Fremantle the default? Is there a way to transfer to Darwin or Brisbane in the future and open new patrol areas?

Does anyone have experience with or thoughts on my question above?

Freemantle is the default. When I was in my S-Class I got transferred to Brisbane pretty quickly. Maybe after two patrols? I forget but it was in time to be involved in the Guadacanal campaign.
