i saw something like this for SH4 but some were fictional, i really want some true stories of times in SH5 so here we go


so today i booted up the game after a while and during my VERY FIRST patrol (not tutorial) i found an unescorted convoy with 6 large old liners and 4 other fieghters and i sank them all with every last bullit in my deck gun and 7 torpedoes, BTW i called my ship U-1337

On my very first patrol in September of 1939 I made it half way up the British coast before we were so shot up from aircraft we had to return to base.

that sucks, for some reason i keep coming to find these massive troop transport fleets that are mostly unarmed, aside from flak guns, this time i had absolutely no ammo left on the ship and 4 transports escaped, for now, so far my career is so efficient i sank 37 ships in 4 patrols worth 390000+ tones, i am already the best uboat captain and im getting a couple ships away from the legendary uboat U-35's tonnage sank :rotfl2: i also forgot to mention in the first post i sank both the Ark Royal and the Nelson/Rodney

You know, you may wish to add some mods in order to fix that broken piece of crappy software called stock SH5...:)

ill think about it especially when i kind of rolled into Gibraltar, waited there undetected for a few days and to my luck an aircraft carrier spawned and i killed it, had half of he British navy's destroyers chase me back to port where Schelswig Holstern pre-deadnought destroyed them, and i kept my head, now i have 440000+ tons, im geting really close to beating Lothar von Arnauld de la Perière's tonnage sank in about half the patrols and a fourth of the sips sank, today i also sank the HMS Warsprite :D

I often engage small groups of merchants with deck gun only. For unknown reason my crew is calling them Task Forces.

wierd me too, i dont remember them doing thst is SH4

I think it may have to do with how Open Horizons 2 was made. Just a guess. IRAI may also be causing it, so that merchants can attempt to ram you. All guesses. :-?

I know it's probably mod related since I do not recall this behavior when I used to play SH5 a few years ago.

Sigh.....I can only manage to shoot the occasional unlucky fishing boat. I guess I'll just have to be content with my very mediocre career in the Kriegsmarine. :hmph:

Just a little while ago I started the game, and like every other time I launched every torpedo I had at one ship and every single one missed by about 30 miles. Yes, that is an exaggeration meant to point out the fact that I can't hit anything, at all. Yet like an abuse victim I keep going back to it. I really am beginning to think there's something very wrong with me.

So there's my SH5 story.

Don't worry, calculating a firing solution manually with no map contact updates is half science half art, you'll get it with practice and be very satisfied when you do!! There are plenty of YT vids available to help you learn.
