With my fancy-schmancy new computer and SH3 running so nicely, I was thinking of trying out the High-Res Fix (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1092). It says in the instructions that it disables the Alt+F11 screenshot function. I don't like that idea as PrtScrn only lets you take one picture at a time, which then must be grabbed in a picture program and converted.
Does anyone know why Alt+F11 is disabled? Is it necessary, or just a choice of the creator. Can it be re-enabled? Why is there air? :88)

I'm not sure which Hi-Res fix you are using.
I'm using the one that basically stretches the stock screen to my monitor, making round things slightly oval.
For me, any attempt to screen capture when using this mod results in a crash to desktop. Though I just got a new graphics card and have not tried it since then.

But wasn't it CTRL+F11 anyways?
It was. I just mistyped and didn't catch it.

I use the High-Res Fix and yes it does disable Ctrl+F11 for screenshots but if you follow the instructions for enabling screenshots with the High-Res Fix you will be able to take multiple screenshots with the PrtScrn key and they will be saved in the folder you specified.

Ah I did not realize that was a link.
Yes, that is the fix I use for Hi-Res.
I get a CTD when I try to take screen shots. Or run FRAPS.
I will try it tonight with my new graphics card and see what happens.

Oh, also, very important:
With the Hi Res fix, you will have to use some modded periscope/uzo UI because when you click out of the periscope the cursor appears over the stock FIRE button and launches a torpedo! :haha:
I use one that puts the TDC on the screen and it also happily moves the fire button so it is no longer a problem. Can't remember who's mod it is though.

Cool! I'll give it a try tonight.

Thanks for that. It shouldn't be a problem for me as I always use the 'O' and 'F3' keys to look through the 'scopes. :sunny:

I tried tonight with my new GTX960 graphics card, and pressing printscreen hangs SH3. However, the .TGA screenshot does get saved.

It has been some time, but is there a newer hi res mod that does not stretch, so the models are a bit strethed and periscopes are not slightly oval?

I believe there are hi-res fixes that require a mod to go with them that provide new screens for everything at the higher resolution. I don't really care for them as most of them just fill up the extra screen space with "fluff".
Steve
disable the screen shoot ability ?
Well just use bandicam ....
you can take tons of screen and do video so easy in 1080p ....
