I have D/Ld it and first time it unzipped into my JGSME Mods folder. ok but the mep when activated(in my Doc's Folder) told me some were missing and aborted the install. Sobers AllinOne Mod october 2014. sobers mep 1600 24092014
Just re D/Ld the megamod and when I R click, 'extract to Sh5 JGSME/mods it unpacks as 'SobersMegaMod.
Same result: Not unpacked into the Mods folder. It's 'sobers AllinOne' Folder again there.

Hi steinbeck

I have just had a look at sobers mega mod.

As sober says it is not a single download.

This is what I would do in your circumstances.

Make sure your mods folder is empty if not delete anything in it.

Make a new folder somewhere on your system in a convenient place.

Put the sober zip file in the new folder.

Open the zip file.

Open the single folder that is showing.

Now you should see everything.

Highlight the first item > !BACKUP

Hold the shift key down and highlight the last item > sobers mep file.

All items should be highlighted.

Go to the Copy tab.

And ok it.

You want everything to go in to your new folder.

Exit the zip file.

You should now be back to your new folder and you should be seeing all the items plus the zip file.

Remove the zip file to a Safe place.

Cut and Paste sobers mep file in to your GFP Snapshot folder.

Make sure there are no patches currently enabled in the GFP.

If there are then disable them.

In the File Tab click on Restore Snapshot.

It may find the Snapshot Folder automatically or you may need to find it.

Double click with your mouse on > sobers mep file.

You should get a confirmation to show it has enabled.

Go to the new folder again.

I notice that there is an Antilag folder.

This is not a mod and does not go in JSGME.

Cut and paste the Antilag folder directly to your Silent Hunter 5 folder.

Open the folder and cut and paste the 2 files in to your Silent Hunter 5 folder. (Use the empty white space on the right side to do this.)

The readme in the Antilag folder will show you how to set it up which is very easy to do.

Go back to your new folder.

Highlight the first item !BACKUP

Hold the shift key down and highlight the last item WHF-FUC mod.

All items should be highlighted.

Copy and paste to your Mods folder.

All the mods should now be showing disabled on the left side of JSGME.

I have actually put them in one by one. Didn't work at all. I have the basic SH5 game. I started a new campaign. Nothing at all to show of Sobers mods.
I don't have the GFP installed.

Hi steinbeck

Quote > I have actually put them in one by one.

Do you mean you copied each one to the JSGME mods folder?

Quote > Didn't work at all.

By this do you mean you could not see the mods in JSGME?

Quote > I have the basic SH5 game.

Not sure what you mean by term > basic SH5 game?

Do you mean the game you bought or the game you are playing?

If you are referring to the game then as soon as you add mods it is no longer a basic game.

However depending on the mods you enable may still use parts of the Stock game.

As you are aware sobers mega mod is a collection of individual mods all contained in 1 folder.

One of the advantages is that the mods are ready to use.

In other words you will not get the folder in folder situations that you get when you download certain mods individually.

He has also included Antilag which is a very useful tool and his mep file for the Generic File Patcher (GFP) as well as the 2 folders for JSGME Mod folder.

sobers mods are inclined to be heavy on resources.

His mega mod is however a useful way to get a lot of mods downloaded in 1 hit although it does not include the recent changes that can be found in his thread on Post #1 .

It would take several hours to download them individually.

Is there a reason why you do not use the GFP?

If you are not a steam user then my tutorial post #2 will show you how to install it.

My tutorial post #56 shows you the patches to enable.

My tutorial post #6 shows you how to enable TDW's Options File Editor Viewer (OFEV)

To be able to use the OFEV it requires TDW's NewUI 7-4-2- or 7-5-0

Yes I had them all in the JGSME left side. using the sobers mep file I activateds each mod as shown in the mep file. I didn't have the antilag installed at all.
When I started a new campaign I expected to be using the sobers Megamod. I wasn't, ( basic SH5)it was the normal game as if there were no mods at all.
GFP, Not used, as I wasn't sure how to use it. Havfe it now although still not too au fait with it.
I have noticed also that there is a 2015 mep which I D/Ld but not used as I had 2014 AllinOne D/L. Where is the new MegaMod? for 2015?
I have the mods in the left side ofr JGSME again. I cannot understand why they weren't active, I had assumed the mep list was the correct way to install the mods. long process individually but I made sure I followed the mep correctly. I have patched the Game also.
Never had these troubles with SHIV mods.

Hi steinbeck

sobers mega mod contains

2 x JSGME file folders

122 Mods

Antilag

Mep File

If you had already installed JSGME then you should have had a warning of the 2 JSGME mod folders being duplicated that came with sobers mega mod.

These were !BACKUP and !INSTLOGS

The mods supplied by sober are a selection of choices and there are also mods that sober no longer uses in it.

These have been removed from the Mep File that is from the 24th September 2014

To get the mega mod to work.

You would need all the mods in left side of JSGME.

In JSGME you would go to Tasks

Select > Load Mod Profile.

Find the Mep file and double click on it.

All the mods in the Mep File would enable leaving the non selected mods on the left still disabled.

I do not think there is a later mega mod.

If you look at his post #1 you will see his latest mod list.

Below it is the download links to all the mods.

There has been 2 major game changes regarding the tonnage bar and how the missions now operate over the last few weeks.

These changes are reflected in his new mod list where he has had to accommodate these changes by adding and removing and updating different mod versions.

I expect once the dust settles a new mega mod list for 2015 will follow.

Reading your posts I cannot quite understand whether you actually enabled any mods?

Use the tool from my tutorial post #28 and see if your mods are correctly installed.

I am assuming of course that JSGME is correctly installed, from your post it sounds like it is.

My tutorial post #4 will show how to correctly install it.

The GFP can be changed anytime the game is not running.
