in grey wolfs 3.0 I am experiencing trouble while trying to attack in fog. When I sink the merchant it does not count as a sink. nothing.
Can that have anything with low visibility so crew cannot indentify boat or sinking?

That's. We to me. Usually there is a distance associated with ships that count as a sinking as long as it sinks in that distance. Sounds poetic. If the ship is torpedoed in fog and disappeared in the fog, and nothing has happened as far as sinking goes, the. It. Ever sunk. You hit it, you just didn't cause critical damage to allow it to sink. Most of these super mods follow real sinking rates dependent on where you hit the ship. It literally could take many game hours for a ship to sink for you. I was north of scape flow and hit a ship with my final torp and it lost power and just sat there for over 6 game hours. I just watched it from a distance. Then it sank.
I don't know if yo are playing GWX 3.0 with or witout the "16-km-atmosphere-mod". With the "16-km-atmosphere" you'll see a ship at (round about) 800 m, without at 300 m. So it's more easy with this additional GWX-mod. I prefer to sink ships in heavy fog and got no problems - even if i lost sight during the attack.
