The venerable institution is 215 years old today:

I know there are a lot of readers and book aficionados on these forum, so I thought some of you might be interested in this...

Besides, I will gladly celebrate a birthday of any of the few things older than I am... :D

I think the library houses more Slovene books than the Slovene national library :hmmm:

Thanks to the National Treasure movies, I tend to think of the Library of Congress as the place you go to plot to steal the Constitution or the President's Book of Secrets.

You can't put stock in movies...
Everybody knows that the book o f secrets is locked up in the White House bunker and the constitution was burned over a hundred years ago.:know:
The LOC only has porn magazines on the shelves and lots of nooks for congressional crannies .
Mind the wet floor signs.

If anyone is unfortunate to visit our capital, I can highly recommend visiting the Jefferson building of the LoC. It is one of the few buildings I have ever truly been in awe of when I was inside.

The architecture and paintings are really something to see.
