Well this was a shock. Very sad to hear this. The voice of a thousand summers, I never remember hearing him say an unkind word.

Arrived home from work last night to learn of this on the news :nope:
Cricket has lost one of its greatest sons, a man I had the pleasure of meeting personally on numerous occasions over the years.
A great innings Richie.

The family of the late former Australian cricket captain and legendary cricket commentator Richie Benaud has rejected Australian PM Tony Abbott's proposal for a state funeral.

Well I have to agree with not only Richard's wishes but his family's as well. I have the utmost respect for him as a commentator an as a cricketer more so. His record as a player of the "gentlemen's game" is without argument quite amazing.
But a state funeral, I do not think so.
