It was with heavy heart I put Busters lead on for the last time this morning. As usual, as soon as he see it, he started bounding around and wagging his tail in expectation. The sun was shinning and not a cloud in the sky as we walked to the vet. All the way there Buster was nuzzling to my hand as we walked, a habit he started almost six and a half years ago.

On arrival at the vet he greated the nurses with much tail wagging as they told how good a boy he was. As the vet came entered the vacant waiting room Buster growled as usual, ( an ongoing thing between him and the vet, due to a previous operation. ) as usual the vet forgave him and tried his best to pet him.

After a sedative, to relax Buster, he finally entered his final sleep at 11.37 am. He is now at rest and will suffer no more.

I would like to thank you all my subsim friends for you thoughts these last few days. In particular ;

@swamprat69er for your moving passage

A last farewell from Buster to you all

Likewise, Fubar: that's a nice picture of him, too. It'll feel easier for you now.

So sorry mate.....stay strong and remember all those good times you had together.

I know it helped me a little when I lost my canine soul mate.

Sorry to hear of your loss, he looks like he was a lot of fun and maybe just a tad boisterous. RIP Buster. :salute:

It is better to love than not, to feel the pain of loss, than not had a companion.
Doesn't make it easy. Not sure how life would feel without Old Bear in it..

I know that feeling, my friend was put asleep in 2007, broke my heart.

After a while though, when you think of him, you just smile and be grateful, the pain and sorrow goes away.
Salute to old Buster! :salute:

Sorry for your loss. I've been there three times in my life. This is so heartbreaking. But there is no more pain for them. We have to have mercy on them. Who else can?

Really sorry for your loss.

:wah: Good companionship is hard to find and it's even harder to let it go.

Stay strong.
