Hi everybody!
After a few days and patrols i'm starting to figure out how things work. I'm starting to uderstand how to approach a target and i also managed to escape enemy chasing me acouple of times (and i must thank the many guides and usefull links and tips provided by forum members). For now i must admit that i'm playing with 29% of realism  but i will increase it when i get better. Still i have encountered some issues that i hope you can help me with:

(i am playing with GWX3 and SHCmdr but i think that i correctly installed them)

- In "stock" SH3 vessels are shown on the map differently coloured accordingly to theyr side (red-enemy, green-neutral, blu-allied). In the modded version all ships are shown in black, so my question was: how the hell do i recognize nationality of a ship? I usually don't shoot but near british waters (i'm playing with the 1st flotilla) but sometimes i still hit neutral ships (and that's a great malus to rep.).

- Is it possible to go back to vanilla SH3 AND keep the mods installed? I mean if i disable all the mods via JSGME and run the game NOT from SHCmdr but from the normal .exe will it work?

- Third: idk if it's a problem with the installation of one of the mods, but for me Operationsbefehl Hartmut started a month earlier (4 Feb. instead of the 4th of March).

- I don't know if it's normal but all the orders i get is to patrol a specific sea area; of course i visit the ports near there and try to intercept the coastal traffic. But in one of my first games i rememeber i received orders in french (possibly because i had enabled the french fix) that seemed more dynamic, also GWX orders appeared once and from then all i get is the "monthly report". Is that normal?

Sorry for the confusion and if there are errors, and thanks for the attention.

Oh two other things: the first is how do i know how deep are the waters i'm sailing?
Sometimes i received contact reports or intercept communcations reporting coordinates, but i can't find them on the map! How do you solve this? Have i to look on a real map? :hmmm:

all ships shown in black - that is to make it harder for the player to identify - obviously.
You need to identify them by the flags they all are flying and / or their entries in the recognition manual

You need two different installations for that: One vanilla and some mods, one with GWX and some mods. Each one will need an own commander

- Third: idk if it's a problem with the installation of one of the mods, but for me Operationsbefehl Hartmut started a month earlier (4 Feb. instead of the 4th of March).

I'm not sure here, but normally, it takes always some time between two missions as it was in real life. Time is longer if your boat suffered some damage.

You'll always get a single mission target, but you can go all around the world, nobody will prevent you from that in the game. Most orders that will be aired are for immersion only, some are based on historical events.

I hope that helps a bit, and welcome to the boat!

Ask your navigator for "depht under keel" --- it is somewhere when you click on that guy on the left at the bottom of your GUI.

There is a MQK converter (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=2975) for that.

Yes it helped! So as i figured out i'd better get closer to the target befor shooting eheheh
Regarding the two installations, do you mean that i have to install the game again (sorry for the stupid question), or i just can copy the folder without mods? And btw, what mods do you recommend for vanilla/GWX?

About the Operationsbefehl Hartmuti mean that i received the orders (the historical orders shown also on wikipedia with the date of trnsmission) one month earlier!

Thanks again for the help and patience

Regarding different installations, you should better start from here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=212323) to avoid all kinds of glitches.
As soon as you have modded your game once, you can't be sure it will return into a "virgin vanilla" one. So better start from scratch. All you need is in the given link.

Good luck! :salute:
