Hello Boys,
I desire to learn Modding.
I have a proposal:
With German U-Boot in Far East, there was also some Italian Sub (Ocean-Going Submarines based before in Bordeaux, France at the Italian Atlantic Base of Betasom)
Submarines like the "Comandante Cappellini", or the "Ammiraglio Cagni" (Ammiragli class was similar to a VIIC very much large size and long)
or the "Torelli" or "Giuliani" (sunk by British Submarine Tally Ho in Malacca Strait".
These Submarines after Italian surrender was captured by Germans in singapore and maybe penang, and renamed U. It. - ""
And have operated with mix italian german crew. (Italians officially under "Italian Social Republic".
The Giulian when was sunk i think was "U.It. 24".
The only that was not captured it's Ammiraglio Cagni, because the 8 september '43 was going to penang, and when hear of surrender, was go in a Allied Port with the "Honours".
Well someone want help me to do an Italian Sub playable for U-Boot Missions?
I know that there is in We Dive at Dawn an Italian Sub, but it's of "Adua Class", a coastal sub. (that will be also good for play, but not historically accurate).
Someone want help me in this, or even in make playable the Adua also?
Even if possible after first mission going under kriegsmarine command? (after surrender of germany, italian submariners have continued to fight with japanese, the last b-25 shot down in ww2 was hit by the AA Breda of Torelli, with italian japanese mix crew, in August-September 45 i think).
Wait Answear.
Thanks!! :)

Thanks!
Some italian sub have a hull similar to some japanese sub.
Not equal, but similar. (italian sub generally have a crush depth much more than japanese subs, but not test depth, that in italy at the times was calculated with a coefficent of security of 3. then if a Adua coastal class have 240 mt of crash, the test depth was 80. for a ocean going sub like marcello class, or ammiragli class, (that was in far east with monsun u-boot) the crush depth was around 300, then the test depth was 100-105. (Ammiragli class was maybe the sub that have much torpedo in history, can take around 35-40 i think, because was a great submarine, that can go to sea for months, and with torpedo more little than normal, like WW1 torpedo.
for war difficult, these submarine class was used more for transport supply in Libya, only the Ammiraglio Cagni was used in atlantic with no great results, because have suffered the problems of all Italian subs, (they was project for a war with france, in mediterranean, with static ambush, and not for convoy's war in atlantic, Italian submarine had forced to do hard work and dangerous). Then the Ammiragli class can be very interesting. (that i repeat was similar a little to Viic, but much more large size)
Are like japanese sub, but in other manner, classes of sub that can be interesting for SH4.
I must ask to keltos if want help me in this.
I don't know modding, but i must learn.

first I suggest you read this http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=149258

then I think using this mod as a pattern can show you a lot of what needs to be done http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=177802

just open the mods files and figure out the things he change to tell you the things you need changed in yours.

this might also be of help with mod tools and technical info http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=155786

if you run into any problems and have questions then just ask one or two of them in the mod forum here

often if you ask too many questions together they don't all get answered so ask a question or two then after those are answered you can ask more questions. that is the best way to get all of your questions answered without have to ask them again.
