Hi TDW
vdr has found a way in his latest TWOS patch to remove the tonnage bar and should be congratulated on this important achievement.
Could his achievement be a window of opportunity for those who do not use TWOS for you to have a look and see if it is possible to do the same or similar option in your Generic File Patcher.
My main concern is from the number of posts where SH5 is being abandoned.
This is not good for the game in the long term and of course there is also the silent majority who just walk away and do not come back.
While some of the more experienced players are able to get around this problem I know there are many, especially older players, who for what ever reasons, may be because they do not have the capability, but also, because they are not prepared to make changes to game files.
Best wishes Peter
Hi Peter,
Still no news from TDW? Hope he is ok.
I don't want to hijack your thread, but you mentioned people abandonning SH5. I finally gave up on it (again!) and went back to SH3 (again!). After reading that some progress and some workarounds were made with regard to the imfamous tonnage bar bug, I decided to give SH5 another go. I had not un-installed the game so I thought I would just continue where I had left off. U-Play would not let me start. Tried everything except uninstalling the game. Tried downloading older 'safe' versions of U-Play but still no start. Read all the threads, de-activated all mods.....nothing. So wasted another evening.
God, when I think of all the work the modders and yourself have put into this game it makes me rage. You guys have made SH5 into a decent game and I can't even start the game thanks to U-Notplay.
So, back to SH3 (again!).:hmph:

Hi limkol
I cannot send him a pm as it is full.
I admit I was hoping for some sort of reply by now.
Just try going to your Ubisoft Game Launcher in your Program x86 folder.
A typical installation would be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
Open the last folder and look for the UbisoftGameLauncher .exe Application icon.
There are two of these.
Right click your mouse over the 1st icon and select Run as Administrator.
You might also want to check your SH5.exe is set to run as administrator.
I still get a Uplay error sometimes when I go to load the game.
I just go back to to the Ubisoft Game Launcher and run it again as an administrator and it works again.
lol :haha:

If you are using TDW's Generic Patcher, you can turn off the UPlay browser and Orbit Listener off in the patches options.
If you reinstall and use the latest "Wolves of Steel" mod, it already has the UPlay browser and Orbit listeners switched off, so when you start the game there is no reference to Uplay at all.
