Is there anything in life you wish you were better at?

I wish I was better at singing. As much as I enjoy belting out a tune in the shower, I do have the singing voice of a goose farting in the fog. I would love to have a rich baritone voice that I could break out without a moments shame, like George Ezra has.

You are not wrong. But I am able, consequently, to plead poverty when the need arises: such as when someone's rattling a collecting tin in my face, a waitress wants tipping or the parking meter needs feeding...

I just sink if I stop moving. I've tried and tried, but I can only swim underwater.

I think most people sink if they stop moving. I've never mastered the 'floating nonchalantly on your back' technique. As Dorey said in Finding Nemo 'Just keep swimming'.

I wish I were better at learning foreign languages. I am quite the dunder-head when it comes to language. I have attended civilian and government language schools to no avail. :nope:

I tend to be comfortable in the water; even scuba at night off Monterey and still have my WSI certification for summercamp teaching...somewhere. Neoprene swim shorts is just the thing to achieve the modicum of buoyancy you're lacking amidships with a light hands (fingers straight-minifins) sculling on your back to avoid yaw and pitch issues..I first learned to swim underwater and came to regard it as the most efficient method with hands/arms always at side-straight leg kick; never 'frog style'- for efficiency...then kicked up to wearing fins and a tank to the whole technique with no problems for thirty years...

I wish I had more confidence, and was better at marketing myself. I have several skills, but none of them has ever made me any money to speak of.

@ Aktung: those kecks of yours look rather expensive, though I'm sure my wife would like to see me in them. I'm afraid this is what I usually end up using:

Hold my liquor better. As I get older it seems it takes less and less before I find myself slurring my words and drooling on myself.

You should have been at Neals house when I gave some of the folk hereabouts a lesson on how to drink three at a time :)

I do agree though, it does get harder the older you become :03:

Oh yes, I can see me strutting up and down the beach in these beauties. Just the mere sight of them would have women fainting and small children filling their nappies, especially with a cut-down pool noodle tucked down the left leg!

I wish I was better to get my thoughts and what I know on script..and a better short time memory.

An example:
Start writing an answer, while writing, a door close in my head and from the one second to the next I have forgot what I had on my mind/what I was about to write.
