The base is hidden under 274 meters mountain.

There is one in Balaklava, it is also open for visit. Unfortunately in 90s metal scavenging lead to flooding of the lower levels, making them inaccessible.

Because they are mines. There is an expo of torpedoes and mines there.

I like the episode where they played "yellow Submarine on the record player to startle an unsuspecting Russian sub! What a setup! no satellite observation worries.

That satellite can find any sub stroy is a bunch of malarkey. Now true they can observe a sub base and judge active levels and they could see a shallow sub and that is nothing new but a satellite is not going to be able to track a submarine submerged in waters of any depth. I don't know where this satellite is the god eye to a sub thing came from but its hooey.

Satellite useful to gather some Intel on sub's true. Satellite being able to track a sub with 100% accuracy such that the sub is naked and exposed no matter what false.
