Greetings. So I have played the Singapore recon mission perhaps a dozen times now, google lead me to this website to which I found a potential answer, either mod the game, or when the mission is complete, report back to base for a new one.
Well, I can't find the mod, I am lead to believe it is Trigger Maru 1.0 by Ducimus, but I cannot find it, and reporting the mission in doesn't seem to work either.
I did however download the JSGME mod manager in anticipation of having to download some guff.
It would be appreciated if anyone who has encountered this bug since this thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=114466
Could help me out.
Best regards

Ok, I downloaded the mod and activated using the mod managed as directed, the mod seems to be working as far as I can tell, but Im not exactly sure what would be a 100% way of verifying that the mod is working in the game.
Second point is that I am still getting the same mission, should I start a new career?

TMO or GFO will have a different loading screen than stock. You shouldn't be in any doubt that it is 'working'. If you don't see it, it isn't properly enabled.
Note that TMO is considered a rather difficult mod, not really the best for inexperienced players.
You should certainly start a new career when you load a new mega-mod.

Ok, well there is definately concept art I have never seen before and this is going to sound very silly, but my computer is pretty fast so I dont really get a loading screen.
Started a new career and I can definately see changes in the gameplay which I'm happy with, as for being an inexperienced player, I wouldnt go that far. I mean by no means am I going to be as good as most of this community if not all, but I am pretty damn good :arrgh!:.
It is sad though that i had to abandon my previous career, the last mission I was on, I got a message when I got into port saying that the engineers were surprised I got the sub back and then the admiral gave me some dinky sub for a few missions till I got myself a new shiny sub again lol. Had racked up something like half a mill in tonnage by May 1942.

the loading screen being talked about is the screen you see when you first click to open the game and you get a brief loading bar thing, even on the best systems it lasts for a few seconds at least, more then enough time to notice what the picture looks like.
if you bring your sub back badly damaged or with hurt/dead crew the game punishes you like that, it doesn't use tonnage to counter your damaged condition so not getting your crew hurt or the sub damaged is more important to the game they what you sink

Ok, loading screen hasn't changed, I thought it had. My SH4 is via steam, so could that be a reason why the mod doesnt seem to be working?
Ninja edit, something has to be working, my torpedos seem alot more powerful than before, IE I dont need to commit two fish to large merchant ship/tanker.

So any help with this?
I can't help you with Steam issues; I have the disc version.
Common issues people often have:
You need version 1.5 (with U-boat missions) of the game to use the latest mods. Earlier versions of the game are buggy.
The game has to be installed in such a way that JSGME can properly enable the mods you want to use. Steam complicates this.
Someone who uses Steam will be able to help you out here.
