Baltic Operations issue

Hi guys,

Recently I picked up SH5 again, trying to play it with a higher realism this time (freaking hard for a noob like me, but great fun)

Anyway, playing with the The Wolves of Steel mod (including OHII) I started with the Baltic Operations mission. Currently patrolling the designated mission area in the Ostsee where I need to intercept the Polish taskforce.

I've been patrolling the whole area (the circle) for a long while now. Been in the north, south, east, west, middle, but the only ships I find is the same German taskforce (3 ships) over and over again. No matter where I am in the area. And I don't find any other ships.

Am I doing something wrong, or just need to have patience?

Hi doctrine

Try taking a course out from Memel harbour entrance of 243ᴼ.

The 2 escorts patrol a diagonal line of about 11 to 5 o'clock.

This is close to the yellow patrol icon showing the sinking ship.

If you play with map contacts then you should see them.

If you make a save in the bunker before leaving you can pull your depart time back by 6 hours which will get you there the same day August 31st around 21.00 hours depending on the speed you use.

Do not sink anything until it turns red.

I don't have map contacts, so instead of waiting untill the become red, i think i have to wait for the message of BDU that all Polsih ships can be attacked?

I am not sure about the attacking time.

I cannot remember what the radio message time says, but it might be between 05.00 and 06.00.

If you are seen by the 2 escorts you will be attacked regardless of the time.

As you play without map contacts you will not see the ships change colour at midnight but the ports will from green to red.

Once you see red you should be able to attack.
