RSRD has every large battle and number smaller ones, all the invasions, etc..It does contain all the battles in the Solomon campaign, convoys and invasion groups, but only a few of these will you get some message or hint. Also has those historical events, such as the Shinano, so if you get in the right position u can relive the moment..

I don't know about RSRD or TMO, but in real life the Japanese never went anywhere near Midway in December of 41.

As far as I am concerned ... none ... until you add the good mods like RSRD to get some historical movements in shipping. The stock game isn't worth playing in my opinion. It is the community here and others who have done such a wonderful job of modding aspects that make the game really worth playing.

So if I can make it to Bungo Suido by the 22nd I'm set to sink some major capital tonnage ... nice.

Obvious unless you use a start early mod, you're not gonna run into the group that attacked Pearl. However, if you hurry leaving Manila at war start, you can catch it coming back through the Bungo..

You can catch part of the Pearl Harbor strikeforce when it goes to assist in the capture of Wake Island

Also in RSRD, you can catch the Tokyo Express about nightly. They all run down the Slot, then split; some go to Cape Esperance, some go around Tulagi to Taivu Point

the stock game isn't that bad really and if you add my GFO mod its still 90% stock with a few more fixes and some added corrections for visual effects and such plus added game content.

if you want realistic battles at set times and dates then that's what RSRDC is for, look at its mod description and "read me" to see more on that.

the game has "variables" in the way it loads details or data about things so even if you wanted to make an exact thing happen on date and time it can be several miles off from the set coordinates in any direction each time it shows up in the game. this is because its built in to the game to "vary" things so it adds more "randomness" to everything so even if you sit in the spot you are supposed to be on the right date and time the task force or convoy may be just over the horizon out of sight so you still need to search the whole area where it was supposed to be to find where they are "this time" that the game loaded the data.

The japanese fleet that attacked Pearl only had 2 battleships with it...the Hiei and the Kirishima aside from the 6 carriers.

That was two more than they needed.
