So, I don't own SH3... yet.

However, seeing as I have the active sonar ping set as my ring-tone, I decided to drive myself closer to insanity by trying to replace my alarm tone [for, say, morning wake-ups] with the crash dive sound-effect.

The problem is, as I don't own the game [or have a computer to run it... yet], I can't access this sound.

Would anyone happen to be as so kind as to provide a download for the vanilla crash dive alarm [you know the one... "ALAAAAAAAARMMMM" followed by a bunch of shouting and running about and submarine noises] in .wav format so I can drive myself to the knife's edge of insanity?

Thank you.

IIRC the version of the alarm sound you're looking for isn't in the stock game. However I think its in the Das Boot Sound mod available for download here on the site. Don't know which file it is though.

Oh, thanks for the heads-up. I'll have to go a-hunting for it, but if someone beats me to the punch, I'd appreciate it.

Download the Das Boot Sound Mod here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=978).

Open any of the Speech folders. The file you want is ChE_K_Crash_dive.ogg. You'll probably need to convert it to .wav, and even then I'm not sure how well it will work, as it's 56 seconds long.

I also have a sonar ping for my ring tone. :sunny:

There are several good free audio editing programs which will convert the file from .ogg to .wav. (Audacity, for one.) The same programs could easily be used to edit the file down to just a screeched: "ALAAAHHM! ALAAAAAAAAHHHMMM!" That ought to be a pretty effective wake-up call!

I used to use the SH4 dive alarm file for my ring tone. And the Star Trek red alert is a great alarm tone!

My ringtone is "Tally ho, bandits!" from the good old Achtung Spitfire! PC game.
