Digital Download Version of SH5 vs Steam

Hi all,

I have SH5 on Steam but sadly It seems some mods will not work with the Steam version (TDW patches), so my question is this.

If I buy the digital version from the Uplay store or Amazon, will that work? I'd rather not get a DVD version, mainly because the ones available are overpriced. The digital Uplay and Amazon are $10.

I downloaded a copy from Amazon several years ago and have not had a problem

Alright, I'll give that a go. I mean, its only $10. I can see why Steam version with its encrypted .exe file would be a problem for modding core parts of the game whereas a version from Amazon doesn't have that additional security.
