In 2015, with the Clock hand moved forward to three minutes to midnight, the board feels compelled to add, with a sense of great urgency: "The probability of global catastrophe is very high, and the actions needed to reduce the risks of disaster must be taken very soon."

I have access to fallout shelter where Iive, where I study and where I work.

According to our ministry for emergency situations around 2/3 of their shelters are ready.

I think most humans will die as a result of pollution and global warming. They won't all die in the same year either. It will take a while.

That process has already begun, years ago. So, fear not, and carry on.

Have a laugh, love a lot, drink a little. Hug the children, pet the dogs. Be kind to each other. It is all we have, all we ordinary people can do.

I was expecting this ever since last year and though you have to take the whole Doomsday Clock thing with a grain of salt, it's a good barometer for global problems.

I think ever since the whole situation with Ukraine got hot, this was inevitable, and I can't say I'm happy about it at all :nope:

The first step toward turning the clock back would be to destroy any bunkers that governments have built for themselves to survive. :D If gov't screws "this" up, there's no way I want those jack wads to survive.

Back in high school, a military science class instructor told us there was one certainty regarding mankind and its weapons: man has never created a weapon he has not eventually used in war. Given that, imagine all the hyper-deadly toys created and, as yet, unused by all the various nations, groups, et al, out there in the big, wide world. Now imagine some fanatic or egotistical national leader or some fanatical terror group gaining control of the weapons we know about and magnify the threat by the number of weapons we don't know about yet. The mind boggles at the possible number of very real possibilities a real apocalyptic trigger could occur and how relatively easy a matter it would be to trip it...
