Yet another loss close on the heels of Bobby Keys passing:

Back in the mid-70s, when I was working in a rock club, the Faces, minus Rod and Ronnie, came into the club. I remember them as being rather nice fellows, full of humor and very friendly, a bit of a departure from the usual aloof 'rock stars' who would come into the club. I always liked his keyboard playing and really liked the songs of both the Small Faces and, later, the Faces. Interestingly, the band dropped the "Small" after Rod and Ronnie joined; the band was called "Small Faces" because the original band members were rather on the short size, height-wise. When Rod and Ronnie came in, they were rather taller than the rest of the band and the name was changed...

Thanks, Ian for all the great songs you graced with your keyboard work and RIP...

Singer Billy Bragg tweeted "British rock has lost one of its greatest players", while Hucknall paid his own tribute on the Simply Red twitter feed.

"Ian McLagan will not be resting in peace," the band's message read. "He'll be rocking whichever house he chose to be in. Bless his soul."

True that...RIP Ian
