hey guys. I am trying to just change the time that I spend at base. only mod I am running is gwx and flak monkeys interior. and of course a few others that come with gwx. I go to sh3 go to data and cfg and then basic cfg. I think in there it is called nbdaysatbase. it is set to 20. I change it to 31 and go to save. it comes up saying there is a file already named this but I just want to save over it I guess. then it comes up saying access is denied. I have win 7 and have this installed in my programs (x86). :/\\!!
Hello fellow submariner.
Couple of things here that might help your gaming experience with SH3 / GWX combined with Windows 7.
1. I suggest you use SH3 Commander as it allows you to amend the days in base without having to alter the .cfg file.
SH3C as you will see it often referred to allows a number of other options as well.
One of the best add-ons for SH3 out there.
2. I never install any games in the Programme Files directories. I am amongst countless others that have found that installing some games, and not just SH3 either has caused a number of issues in either installing the game, loading it or playing it.
The general consensus is to create a separate Folder, {call it what you like}, away from "Programme Files" and install SH3 there e.g.
My SH3 directory path is:
C:\NEW PROGRAMMES\SILENTHUNTER3
Same goes for SH3 Commander:
C:\NEW PROGRAMMES\SH3 Commander
It will mean a complete re-install, but it's worth it.
Hope this helps
