Ahoy all.
It has taken me, how many month's to get the courage to write this. From this 49+ guy, I am, Ha! (Ok, a couple of years.)
Let me start, by saying, yes some of the game, could have been or should have been, a mix if 3 and 4. With some of the good aspects of SH5.
I didn't mind the getting to know the crew, etc. I thought that was a good addition. Not all about, just find, point, shoot, fire and sink ships, etc.
It's a pity SH4, didn't do that, with the US subs, etc.
But, I know that's a whole different ball of wax, to talk about.
Anyway, I brought SH5 as the DVD, some 12 months after the DRM problems. (as I read prior, about during those 12 months. I was happy to wait.) Which also included the bonus DVD about the USS Lagarto. Which was quite interesting.
Now, for my embassing bits. (I reckon, Ha!)
So, here I am 2014 and I still can't get pass, the mission in "Total Germany" or was it "British Coastal" it's one of the one's not long after you leave Kiel? passing the training mission.
I have been, playing other games, in btn, all this. Plus other things, in life getting on with, Ha! (House work, work, etc. you name it.)
The one, just North West of Ireland, whereby you travel btn there and Iceland, Greenland and just off Canada.
Looking for 5 Armed Transports ships and the other prize an Aircraft carrier.
Ha, I still can't find them. Or am I looking in the wrong area, of ocean??
The Irish Sea?? Maybe?
I know, I should look to other threads. I kinda have tried. And gone back to the game. But to no avail. Dam it!
As the DVD is now, how old, Hee! I think that the game, is slowly grading.
Some sound, when the characters, at the Sub pen, is dying.
Or the part of the screen, top left hand corner, is not showing missions, to do list. Plus the on the World map, I don't see the mission icon as to where to sail too, etc.
So, could it be that the DVD is ready, for Davy Jones' Locker???
(if so, what is another way, I can get the game again, brand new??? on DVD, if possible?? Or do anyone recommend, Hello Steam game version??)
Also, possibly now, my OS specs on my PC, might part of it???
(it's old by today's standard.)
And to tell you the truth. I still haven't got it together, in working out, from which part of my PC, to gather that info correctly. So I can, say on any forum, this is my specs, can I play that game, silly me.
(would my Nvidia GeForce EXP screen, or DXDiag or Windows Systems info be the correct one, to quote?)
I am sorry, to ask of any of you, all this. It's the side of computers, I am not to flash on.
Anyway, I would like to actually finish the game. But as you can see. I'm alittle stuck. Buggar.
And I am in regret to bother you.
