Kameraden,

Is it possible to alter a boats time of departure from its base? It's a Type II docked at Wilhelmshaven only just back from patrol and I need a quick turnaround.

I've used SH3 Commander 'Days in Port' function to set the earliest day of departure I can but for operational reasons (intercept a scripted East Coast convoy reported by another boat of mine already at sea) I really need the time of departure to be no later than 06:00 hrs on the day.

The crew will have had just over 30 hours in port if they sail by this time and they're being paid extra so no complaints from them.

I can't make the day of departure any earlier (set to 1 day in port) as the boat could be scheduled to leave before it has arrived, which would cause all sorts of problems.

I don't know of any way to manually set the time. But there are many things I don't know, so maybe...

I have for various reasons in the past backed out of a patrol I was just starting, and done it again until I got the time I wanted.

Go into your My Documents/SH3/data/cfg/Careers/(your kaluen name)/Patrols_0 and scroll down to the last section and find this

[PATROL 010]
PatrolNumber=0
StartYear=1941
StartMonth=3
StartDay=1
StartHour=19
StartMin=34

You can change your start hour and minutes here. BTW it opens with notepad. Remember to save your changes.

I had a sneaky feeling that one of the old hands on here would have a solution. Thanks, HW3, much obliged.:up:

@ Sailor Steve, I've had a few glitches with repeat starts of the same mission. The last one almost corrupted a nine patrol career when I tried multiple restarts with a different patrol grid and SH3 Commander took violent exception to it.

I've brought forward U-19's departure time to 0100 hours so they have a better chance of intercepting the convoy-to-be in deeper water and in darkness. It will also save on the flotilla's fuel bill.

KptLt. Zoff and his crew will be delighted that the 25 hours they have between arrival and departure will now be spent loading torpedoes, refuelling and provisioning the boat. I know they like to keep busy and there's nothing to do in WH when it's raining anyway. In compensation, I've promised them all extended leave when the war is over...:shifty:
