I don't know if this is the right place to put this thread; but I'm new, so I'm not familiar with the layout.

Anyway; I've seen a lot of suggestions on the forms prior to joining about several ships that should be playable.

These are my suggestions...

The New Mexico Class Battleship,

Iowa Class Battleship,

North Carolina Battleship,

South Dakota Class Battleship,

King George Battleship;

Nelson Battleship;

Revenge Battleship;

HMS Hood;

and thats pretty much it.

The game is more fun with large surface vessels to play with. :rock:

The game is based on mostly merchant shipping as a Playable battleship your capital targets are few and far between. You get mainly merchant shipping unless you plan your month correctly with an accurate traffic mod and find capital ships during certain battles.

I found the Yamato and her sister ship coming down San Bernardino Straits during the Second Battle of the Philippine Sea.

Kurita's Center Force moving through the straits are ripe targets but they move fast. If you get the chance for foul weather and low moon light you can get a more evenly matched surface attack going.

I tool the IOWA through there alone once. I passed between the two sister ships and did not last long. Another attempt was more successful but I was never able to sink the Yamato. Her sister ship I set ablaze and she sank hours later.

In a submarine I have managed to sink two Cruisers in one battle and the Yamato in another.

I just finished the Yamato entering Pearl Harbor mid 1943 ... it wasn't pretty for them.

To be honest; playing a battleship and going against merchant convoys, especially convoys with escorts should be a bit thrilling knowing that there's little the escorts can do to stop you. And with the Silent 3 Editor; you can make things a bit more interesting. :D

Download it and try to mod it that way.

I'm still quite new to that, and I haven't figured out the whole method of doing it right yet. But if someone could help me with tips that would be "ship shape!" :D
