Leave it to Massachusetts to come up with yet another communist plot...

I always thought California would be the first to inaugurate this kind of nonsense.

By punishing all of your tobacco users?!?
What did they have to do with it?
More like a sneaky way to push all the people with a bad habit right out of the state.
Logical.:haha:
One would think that they'd take a cue from Pennsylvania, et al and just jack up the excise taxes.
After all, The ACA has forced everyone to get health insurance now. I don't understand their line of reasoning.
Back to the 1930's instead of moonshine it will be fags.
Oops I was using the UK meaning of the word as in cigarettes.

American politics magically turns anything you're opposed to into communism.

:shifty:
That's very communist thinking...

What is communist about that?
Maybe I used the wrong term.
More like Big Brother...
Always telling you what you can and can't do.
If I had always listened to my big brother's propaganda, I'd be curled up in the fetal position in a corner somewhere.
The politicians never seem to see the down side to this kind of BS.
Many people died during the prohibition of alcohol. Killed by gangsters going against the law or the government trying to enforce it. They actually started putting poison in denatured alcohol because the gangsters were stealing it and re-naturing the stuff for the drinkers.
And loads of unseemly characters would add anti-freeze to stretch out their batches of moonshine.
Then there will be the loss of excise revenues that will get replaced with some other tax levied on smokers and non-smokers alike.
Either way, you're going to pay.
I'm glad I don't live in Massamachusetts.
Think is, I don't know how it is in the States, but periodically over here a study group or government think-tank will release what they think is a good idea. Banning smoking in cars, for example, or something like that. It will make big headlines in all the media but what will tactfully be left out is that it's just an idea from a thinktank as opposed to an actual law that will be put in place.
That is not to say that it will never be put in place as the ban of smoking in enclosed public places has shown, however since the shear thought of it makes for headlines then the media leaps on it like shark on blood.
That being said, the tide is turning against tobacco...which is odd really if you go along the lines of big companies corrupting big government, one of the biggest companies are the tobacco and alcohol industries, and yet the government is gradually moving against them, tobacco at least.
Still, there you go. :dead:
