:Kaleun_Wink:Anyone know how to install SH3 on a PC running Windows 7 x 64?
Installed it in default directory c\programsx86\ubisoft ok, but would not play.

Reinstalled same in a new folder c\games, still will not play, even though it states all compatibility ok
It states that it needs a windows 95 installer program?

Any ideas?

My only idea is that while there are still some subsimmers here in General Topics you might get a better response if you post this in the SH3 section of the forums. :sunny:

Hi Graham

If you have the option do not put in the X86 folder.

Not knowing what version you have some use compatibility mode XP service pack 2.

However I run the game ok with win 7

I also use GWX3.0 - SH3 Commander - GWX3 cfg files for SH3 Commander easy installer.

Absolutely brilliant setup with this and leaves SH4 and SH5 standing with the amount of set up control you have.

Have you got the dvd version with v1.4?

To check your version put the dvd in the tray and cancel the auto install, open the dvd and right click on the SH3.exe and go to Properties and Details and look at the File version which should be 1.4.0000 or 1.4.0.1 and not 1.00.0000.

The readme document should show the 1.4 changes from 1.3

Now I have to apologize for doing a bad shot at humor.
I didn't mean it to come out like it looks and ment it as a tounge in cheek over statement.
I mean really? How many have been nailed to stakes and burned to death or rode out of town on a rail? None that I know of.
Weird humor but I try.
Sigh.....
Brig time?
:nope:

I'm sorry I don't have a clue. I'm still stuck with a very old computer that runs on XP.

Hi Graham

I have not heard of a v1.5 version for SH III only for SH 4 may be some one will have an answer.

Afaik the last version made for SH III was v1.4b

You can try right click on the SH3.exe and set it to run in XP compat mode.
I'd suggest installing anywhere BUT the programx86 folder.

Yes. You did a tounge in cheek statement first.
I mean really, "while there are still some subsimmers here in General Topics"? Some subsimmers? :har:

I failed to qualify my edit with a smiley or such to show it was ment as a joke.
Danged speed editing!!
(That's my excuse. I may not stick to it. :shifty:)
