Looks like the wait will soon be over with the procurement of 14 aircraft initially:

The Lightning II will equip the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force with a highly advanced multi-role stealth combat aircraft, operating from both our new Queen Elizabeth class carriers and land bases.

Its hard for me to imagine that the UK's new QE class carriers will only carry 40 aircraft, which includes the F35. Those ships will be so big, you would think they could carry a lot more planes then that!

Well...they also need to carry the equipment to fix the F-35s when they break down, and lots of it.... :03:
