I couldn't find if these have been posted before, so I thought 'what the hell' just because they are supremely awe inspiring!

They're laughing about how amusing it'll be to win the war and force all decent British folks to wear Lederhosen!
Also, #30: PUPPIES FTW!

To pick a nit, because that's the type of pompous prick I am.. There is a difference between a color photograph and a colorized photograph. I suspect that all of the 39 photographs in that article are colorized not color photographs.

You are right on both accounts:
You are a pompous prick.:O:
The photos are colourized, not colour.
Not all the pictures are colourized, IMO!

The Rocks of Andromeda, Jaffa, and transports laden with war supplies headed out to sea in 1918. This image was taken using the Paget process, an early experiment in color photography.

^ Autochrome pre-dates that photo, as one of the first commercial color process.
I was referencing to the photos in the article, some were taken in color (negative or positive) film. Others were colourized. The samurai ones, possibly taken by Beato, were colourized, he did that to his photos.

Oh yeah I knew what you meant...my intention was to post one that hadn't been 'colourized'.

Yes, I know. But then again, early colour processes were additive, so every color picture was "colourized"! :know:
