Interesting article in the 10/22/14 Washington post.

She was lost July 1942, 30 miles off Cape Hatteras, lying near her last kill the old freighter Bluefields.

She was already damaged when she attacked an escorted convoy in daylight.

Sunk by a Coast Guard escort. Lost with all hands.
