View Range

Greetings,
I have a question about the visual range of my watch crew. Often i get a message that they have spotted a contact there and there 21KM away. When i proceed to look i cant see anything. I actually cant seen anything for a very long time until the distance has decreased to half. Why does they see so incredibly far if i cant see ****?

New UI etc
ARAI
Mighty fine crew
Damage balance
Some sound mods

Might be a couple of things. What they are seeing may not necessarily be the ship itself, but the hence of diesel smoke from the smoke stacks. If they see just the hue of smoke, obviously something is there.

The other could be your sonar. Your sonar could be picking up the ship, and the sonar guy could be announcing it.

Just a thought.
