View Full Version : Ramming and sinking does not give a credit

So there I spoted small coal tender and decided to sink him. However the wind was too strong and I could not use flaks to destroy it so I dicided to ram him 90 degress at starboard at full speed. Well I sunk it with little damage to my u-boat but still no credits for that :( It's not fair!
Well, if you want to risk the possibility of damaging your boat up to the point that you cannot safely dive any more. Or break your primary weapons (your bow tubes), then don't look weird if Admiral Dönitz thinks differently. Some tactics are not to be encouraged. Even if you got lucky this time.

Well sunk tonnage is sunk tonnage, no matter how it was achieved, credits had to be counted into my account anyway, but I believe SH3 does not model credits for sinking enemy vessels due to ramming.. It's practically save to ram such small units like coal tenders, sloops, and fishing boats, but there won't be credits for such kill I assume.. :shifty:

Frankly speaking I rammed him so hard, I literraly entered into his textures, then I ordered full speed back to exit from his textures which were covered in flames... I heard shouts about boat being damaged, but there was nothing to fix (no yellow sections).
Maybe you should damage the vessel with an ordinary weapon at first, that the game mechanism counting your tonnage is triggered. Some shots with the gun or flak should be enough to damage the target and when it sinks, due to what ever happens to it, it should count. Try it and let us know. :-)
P.s. nevertheless ramming with an unarmored and fragile hull of a sub is very uncommon and should be avoided. BdU will not be happy with a damaged boat because of some tons of fish.

Ussually I would just feed him with some flak fire and forget about it, but as I said, there was a storm in the ocean so I couldn't use flak.. I started my career at april 1944 so IMO every little hostile floater that can be sunk must be sunk so I did something horrible to him as you now know :arrgh!:
