View Full Version : Kapitan Names, just for fun
Padi Muffdiver

I did this for a flight sim forum I was on and collected a huge library of great names. I'd like to solicit some good commander names for SH3 & SH4.
My recent career just ended for Padi Muffdiver. He's enjoying some time in Argentina right now.
My new SH3 kapitan is Herr Ball, named in honor of my two cats.
Are there some others I can add to my library? Of course assuming the names are politically correct and in good taste, i.e., my old Kapitan Kolonscope may have been a questionable choice.

I always use SH3 Commander. It has a database of over 42,000 real names, divided into first and last and giving a possible 1.7 billion names.

I run careers in each of the various ubermods. My Kaleuns' names are based on my maternal great-grandfathers.

Actually, I just use a German translation of my grandfather's name. Wilhelm Fischer.

When Cmndr came up with Harry Busch i knew he was our man, atleast i think hes a dude, reguardless,,, Busch sealed the deal...
I am a fan of the show "Space:1999" and I named my Kaleun, Johan Konig, after the commander John Koenig, and the game gave me my first sub, U-99.
Nice choice!
I have used names like "Klaus Fisch" -from 'American Dad' and "Erich Kartmann" from 'South Park', as well as germanizing my own name, from time to time.
My name in German - my first name has a germanic equivalent and my surname is one of the professions eg Fletcher, Cooper etc.. so i just use the german word for it!

Thanks! I just got my first skipper's name for SH4 -- I'm going with my country/western stage name, Willie Nailer !
Finding accurate german names isnt that hard, but to combine them to sound good is another story My kaleuns are: Werner Braun, Heinz Kolb, Hermann Lück. Here are some other suggestions. Johann Ley, Fritz Eber, Joachim Dies, Karl Voesch...
Addendum. Von Spargel is the brother of von Kraut ;) But sailor steve is right. Use the sh3commander. Cheers
