Loaded it last night and playing just there, Poland 1st mission - report task force. I was on way and using time compression about 64x and checking the map for contacts to slow down before I get to close. Contacts spotted, I look at the map and a quick slow down to 1x I see I am about 16miles from them, but they have change course and heading at speed in my direction?
I go under and by the time they get near me I have spotted 2 Polish merchants, I pop up PS up just above water level not looking more that 10 seconds the 2 destroyers are over 6,000m away, as I said I had hardly got the PS up and not that much above sea level and I hear Ping Ping Ping and as I quickly lower it I hear shells exploding about 3 before the 4 and 5 hit me at PS depth. I got deeper and 1 of the destroyers is above me pinging away like a mad man, and the DC are dropping about the 3rd and 4th of these finish me off.
I had save the game from this so, I got to dive and get my PS down quicker and no shells hit this time, I went down to 50m and waited, I tried to move but as soon as I went from 0 to 1 ahead, the orange circle went from a small spot to a massive circle, so I ended up not moving at all.
After running time on as best I could, they had moved away somewhat, I thought I'll put up to PS depth and have a look, I seen them and marked them on the map they were about 6,000m from my position ( as thegame was saved) I thought I'll pop up to decks awash and get a quick signal off .. as I did on the map the grey circle round the destroyer went out and out I did a quick measure to see how far these things could spot me at, sitting low Decks Awash - the grey "look out" circle went from destroyer to 7,500m out as I heard the shells exploding I dived again.
Now I don't mind a challenge, but it would seem even from playing Grey Wolves a few years back, these Polish Destroyers are more like the UK US destroyers that came After the Happy Times ..
These things seem to spot a PS just out of the water and no more from 5000m+ away and their gun and shell fire is like laser guided.
I don't know if its my memory of Grey Wolves has faded over the last 2-3 years, but these Polish ships seemed super charged in WOS's 1939 compared GWs 1939 destroyers, locate you at greater distances and Lock On with bullets and shells at seem laser guided.
I clicked on the mission tab on the map and all it seems I am supposed to do is intercept and report the Polish ships which I've done, is there not some indication of this on the mission tab when done ?
ps .. went in again, loaded mission save before attack .. destroyers sitting about 6000m away went to decks awash and the grey circle round the destroyer on the map went out to 10km was only 20secs if that at decks awash when the shells started whizzing over - crash dive went down to 55m and switched off Silent - didn't take long for it to find me and 2 Dcharges later Boom I was dead and dropping like a stone ..
