If they have some DNA left, proven to be the murderer's, there might be a revelation one day. Until then ... write on :)

Not sure how reliable this website is (those who live in the UK would know better then I would) but this article says they have identified who The Ripper was using DNA tests. He is supposed to be Aaron Kosminkski, a 23 year old man from Poland. Police at the time had suspected him as the killer, but didn't have enough evidence to arrest him. Blood found on a shawl was identified as his. Didn't know dried blood would hold up well enough after all these years to be tested, then traced through his relatives living today.

So that pile of poop The Daily Mail has finally unveiled Jack the Rippers identity as being Polish born Aaron Kosminski.

Typical Poles, coming over here and stealing all our murder victims.

Problem is, they can't link the shawl to the murder scene. Amos Simpson was with the Metropolitan Police, not City, on who's jurisdiction the murder of Kate Eddowes took place. There are no records of Simpson being at the scene and there is no records of any shawl found on Eddowes (her belongings were listed as they took the body to the mortuary on Golden Lane). Simpson couldnt even have asked his superiors to take the shawl home as his superiors would have been Metropolitan Police, who had no part in the investigation.

So, there. Humbug!

I like how Jack the Rippers disappearance was dealt with in that Jackie Chan movie "Shanghai Knights". Picked on the wrong girl and got Karate kicked right off of a bridge! :)
