can i install thomson's sound pack over GWX alternative flotillias?

hey, I want to install Thomson's sound mod, but it says it overwrites the en menu.txt. can I install Thomson's sound pack after GWX alternative flotillas?

yeah it should work. i use it overiding alternate flottilas atm.

En menu.txt is the file that supplies the text you read when somebody says something. Thomsen's Sound Pack having its own file simply means that it will change some of the text you see. It won't affect either mod other than that, and there is no danger involved.

thanks guys, I have another question, can I activate "extended free cam for GWX3 1.1" after Thomson's sound mod? it says that commands cfg has been altered by Thomson's sound mod.

That's true up to a point, Steve. But a WinMerge compare of the en_menu.txt files from GWX Alternative Flotillas and Thomsen's sound mod shows quite a few unexpected differences. They won't affect the operation of the program, but they may affect gameplay. Like having tooltips for most gauges and dials in German. (Yes, I know it's supposed to be the English file....). And not having Labels on the Norwegian U-boat bases.

And overwriting Thomsen's with Extended Free Cam will lose you the system check and engine start sequence which plays when CTRL-S is pressed. A trade-off for the individual gamer to make.

IAC, there is no danger of breaking the game - whatever that means, which is generally just that a reinstall is required. But there are consequences, and mods may not work as expected.
