Heard this on BFBS Radio the other day in Bahrain.

An interesting conflict about which I'm currently reading.

I thought that was quite amusing myself.

I don't know what the fuss is about, after all if it wasn't for that then it'd still be the 'Grey House' which is nowhere near as inspiring as the 'White House'. :03:

I don't really see anything to be upset about. It is a unique historical event.

We commemorate many events that are way worse than the burning of White House. We even commemorate D-Day, in which a lot of Germans died as well, who are now part of western allies. Should Germans be outraged too?

I think some from the US of A act like teenagers when it comes to defending the image of their country. It's all fun and laughs when it happens to some other country, but if someone says a bad thing about US of A, it's immediate defence mode, flex muscles and be sure to remind everyone how USA saved the world in WWII. :)

Relax.

You won't see me getting all upset about it. Sometimes I'd like to burn the joint to the ground too.:03::arrgh!:

Complaining on the internet? It's the thing to do! I agree, it's all about making yourself heard, and more than a bit silly. Of course the event itself is more than a bit silly, but hardly worth getting worked up over two hundred years after the fact. Maybe a cause for a good pie fight.

Actually that's something of a myth, as there is some evidence that it was originally white and called 'The White House' as early as 1811.
